What are your thoughts on school budget?

I am absolutely for funding our schools and making sure that students and teachers have what they need to succeed. I am not for writing blank checks. I think that we need to have an open line-item budget to vote on and eliminate any unnecessary spending.

There are several things that I am looking to change or policies that I want to add. I have some concerns with safety that I would immediately address. These are not major things and don’t take any money to correct. They are just policy changes and things that need to be implemented that the current administration is missing.

If it’s out of sight it’s out of mind just like anything. A side from this website. I would also engage parents and voters via Facebook, and Youtube. People have the right to be informed and need to know what’s going on in the schools. Cecil county does great things when it comes to our schools however, we also seem to hide this information from everyone. I want to have transparency which will keep people engaged.

There is clearly a problem. I want to work with the teachers and find out what is working and what is not working. I want to better understand the reason we have the scores we have. I won’t jump to conclusions or make changes to policies until we hear from the experts on what they think the problem is. However, we need to get this corrected right away as the students deserve better and the taxpayers and parents deserve a better return on investment.

There are many ways that you can help. We are always looking for donations so that we can get yard signs out there. We are also looking for people to go door to door to spread the message. There is also the biggest and most important thing you can do to help. It’s get out there and vote. Tell your friends to get out there and vote. Change can’t start without you! Early voting is October 22nd-29th. Election day is November 3rd.
